I hate how abusive American colleges are to its own students

If you try to take food out of the dining hall, employees threaten to report you. If you drink water in the library, security threatens to report you to the dean. If you protest, you get arrested. I have even seen security threaten to get a student arrested for being drunk at a football game. Why is college like this?
