How do you learn to make life financially stable?

All I know is that I need to work a job right now and contribute financially but I also need to figure out what to down with life in terms of career prospects. Like I think I just need to go college and get a degree in high end field like healthcare or engineering or business something. Because minimum wage labor sorta jobs isn't going to cut it. My goal is honestly to provide a better life for my family. We have been living in a apartment for so many years. One parent has already passed away and other only works a minimum wage job in restaurant. I feel like I need to be the one taking life seriously and really provide a good life to my siblings and parent. They always had the desire to get a house of our own but I don't really know like where to start.
