How and when did you decide to really change and say goodbye to the old you?

Really looking at turning my life around with some things I'm struggling with. I really want to say goodbye to some of my old ways, in a way I feel like I have to say goodbye to who I am currently to let the person I want to become lead and take charge.

Really looking for any inspiration someone might be willing to share.
