Feeling pressured into having kids...

2 months ago 72

I know it's natural and the flow of things in life, but as a single and childless nearly 38 year old, I'm starting to feel family pressure to have children. There's so much I still want to do in life, especially after being forced to just sit and wait out covid and a housing crisis for the last few years.

We've got a good family friend who's granddaughter just had a baby and she has been showing everyone photos etc. and I can't help but feel that everybody is looking at me now - my mum even mentioned something about not being able to continue the family tree.

Dad has been waiting for a while now, because his side of the family never had kids, but then again, his new wife only had her daughter at 40 - honestly I'm scared I've got his family gene. I love kids and don't mind having them some day, but always wanted to adopt our foster. I'm feeling the pressure.
