I just took possession of a townhome. With the county office being closed (presumably for the hurricane, and until not-sure-when), and with the county website seeming designed by drunken baboons, I can't quite figure out how to get water/sewage service set up (and have already received a three-day disconnection notice on my door; note that I haven't moved in yet). Is it true that I'm going to have to physically go to the county office with a paper application form and a physical deposit check? If so, that strikes me as insane in 2024. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
