Does anyone else get upset how animal lives are at times treated better than other humans?

I was thinking about how this dog was left chained up to a fence in Florida during the most recent hurricane and even governor DeSantis spoke about this issue. Meanwhile Texas wants to shoot migrants crossing the border. People will go to city council meetings advocating not to build affordable housing or homeless shelters, then give there pets the best treatment, it's own bed, the best food, dental cleanings. Some people would run into a burning building and if given with the choice of either saving a stranger or their dog, they will pick their dog. Don't get me wrong, I don't believe in the mistreatment of animals. I'll admit, I baby my cat. Lastly, this might be more controversial but I was speaking with a vegan as to why they decided to go vegan, and they don't like the way animals are treated and caged in the food industry. I understand that, then I asked about like actual real farm house animals, not something you can buy in a store. The answer was still no meat, no eggs, etc. I was confused because these real farm animals is exactly what you want, but you still wouldn't even eat eggs from these chickens?
