Dating Ages. Person Shocked at my GF's Age!!!!!

Hi. So I was living in South America. Met a girl there. We started seriously dating, met her family etc.

I am a man in my 30s. She is in her 20s. No one in South America really thought it was strange at all. In fact people looked at me strange because I wasn't married yet with children. There were a lot of children down there. Family, family, family. And it seemed healthy and normal.

Then, back in Canada. I am talking with a lady who is about 70. I tell her my gf is 28 y/o and the 70 y/o lady flips out a bit. She says it's not about the age gap, but that means I was with this girl before she was 25 years old and before 25 your brain is not fully developed, and the 70 y/o lady was saying she had teenage energy, can't make decisions.

Also, I want what is best for my gf. I'm not being selfish. And the 70 y/o lady said it sounds like I'm being like her father. But down in South America, with some people, and for me frankly, it is normal to protect women and care about them, and care about all people.

So what is normal and healthy to you and a sign of a healthy society: meeting a girl when she is 18 to 24 and getting to know each other over some years and marrying while she is still in her 20s and having children, maybe she has a child even before 25 years old, and you have lot of children, or telling women and men to wait, wait, and wait and be alone for a decade or hook up with a bunch of people and by 35 to 40 then you can think about finding someone you might want to marry?

In Canada, the median age is much older than South American countries. I don't see many children in Canada. It's full of foreign workers too however related that is. Um.. yeah... so not sure if Canada today in 2025 is a very good example of health...

Thoughts?

She made me feel not so good. Another lady too, older, said she married at 18 years old but then told me it was too young. Even though she had a death-do-us-part husband and children out of it. So maybe there is a reason hormones are going young and you marry young. Maybe you won't marry at all otherwise or have children otherwise.. seems almost natural dare I say to marry young.
