CEO/rich elite death and crowds with manic rejoicing…where have we heard that before?

This Luigi situation feels really weird. Not the actual situation of the murder itself, but the aftermath (the photography, the hero elements, and the public reaction).

I’ll go back through the sub and have a look at conspiracy theories related to this, but I had a familiar feeling to that time when that titan submarine was making world news and there were countdowns to oxygen running out and people being incredibly…well…vindictive, malicious, almost excited to have these elites dying a horrible death.

Of course there are reasons why the downtrodden might genuinely feel that deaths in both situations are deserved, but the media portrayals and huge uptick in likes anytime there’s a Reddit post on the situation reminds me of the bot droves that appeared to be present in that earlier situation.

Was there anything that the government/authorities may be trying to divert the audience’s attention with this Luigi thing, just as they seemed to be doing with the Titan submarine incident?
