Being sick - circadian rhythm

I woke up yesterday feeling like shit. Then during the day I felt better.

I woke up this morning feeling like I got hit by a train. I called in sick this morning to work but now feel mostly fine (although I am consistently drinking hot squash!).

Rather than force myself to work and having to call in sick again tomorrow, I’ve just stayed off. This feels like the right decision because I’ll recover faster and start full days quicker , but I feel a bit guilty for not working right now.

Is this normal ?have I don’t the right thing ?
