My current credit union treated me like shit, so I've been looking for a new one.
Every single one in the area, every single one, will not give me an account due to my credit, which my ex-wife ran up before we split.
Even when I show them proof, they won't budge.
This never used to be such an issue. Roughly 27% of the country has credit issues.
I'm not asking for a credit card, a loan of any sort, I've even offered to have them switch off the ability to overdraft permanently.
So it makes no sense. If I can't overdraw the account, and it's my own money I'm spending, why is my credit such a factor?
I'm literally not using any sort of credit, nor can I.
I talked to someone who has an auto loan with a local credit union, and while his credit was decent enough to get a car loan through them, it's still not good enough for a checking account.
