Attracting the wrong people

For some reason I feel like I attract the wrong people to me. I'm friendly open honest guy like to engage with people and get to know them and not judge but for some reason the people that I don't seem to like some much want to be friends or hangout and the people I would prefer to be friends with or hangout with don't seem to not want to.

What gives?
