Am I doing something wrong?

Am I doing something wrong? How can I live in today’s society?

I’m 27F, high school teacher living in NJ. I make a very decent living. Not married, no kids. Everyday it just seems like there’s no end in sight. I want to afford a home, but I don’t understand how it is literally possible alone. I did not make foolish financial mistakes like a lot my age. I have one credit card never exceeds 3k, I have 19k in student loans I pay on each month. I have two older cars that I paid in full, never any loans on them, minimal bills, don’t eat out a whole lot, I like to travel each year but nothing extravagant on my wallet. How do people afford it? I simply don’t get it. I save my money, I enjoy the life I have, but I want to own a home and it quite frankly is crazy that it seems like it’s never going to get better. And yes before you come and say it I am fully aware NJ is expensive. Is there any end in sight or am I doing something wrong?
