[no, this is not about the govt. controlling our brains]

i recently read an article from Forbes, which pointed out how only about 10%-15% of our human population is self-aware, and i've been seeing its validity all around me. at my college there are hoards of people chasing influencers who are nothing short of being literal criminals and gang-members, people talking about ass*ulting other people with no remorse [tht too out loud in public], constantly having their eyes on screens for double-digit hours every single day, nobody seems bothered by the immense amounts of AI made content flooding the web, and so much more.

wht i mean to say is tht people dont seem like they are bothered by anything anymore, the world just keeps moving. most people seem like they dont have deeper emotions, everything feels suppressed, nobody is seen as human anymore, most people have lifeless eyes; without the slightest of hint of there being a person behind those very eyes. nothing and no one feels real anymore, brainrot and advertising has flooded most of internet and public spaces filling people's minds with useless information and desires.

due to all of this nobody feels real anymore, everyone is worried about the same kind of unreasonable nonsense, everyone talks the same way, giving me the same information over and over again. being bothered by not being up to date with the crazy thing tht popular youtuber did, or the new argument some other creator had, even scams and scandals have become entertaining for us now.

half of the things i ever see anyone doing is just to prompt other peoples' minds to generate good perceptions about formerself; and everything seems completely detached from emotion or passion.

the crazy part:
this frightens me, because this seems like its some kind of filler personality, tht has naturally occurred within us, being some kind of response/course-of-action our brains have opted for to better fit into society, which is just to go along with wht the crowd says. the problem is tht the brain no longer has to be original once its in a scenario like this, we just have to do wht others are doing, not much real thinking is required for this.

hence becoming the reason for people not being self-aware. originality is lost, we're literally meeting the same person everyday [kinda]. most of the people around you may just be functioning like this, on auto-pilot. im talking 80%-90% of the populations and that's huge.

here's the article btw:
